This slender volume on II Timothy offers a concise interpretation of the contents of this last letter from the apostle Paul. The reader is urged to keep a copy of the scriptural text open before him. The text quoted is that of the American Standard Version (1901), but the interpretation is based on a study of the original Greek. An attempt has been made to keep technical matters in connection with the original language to a minimum, and all Greek words, whenever quoted, have been transliterated into the English. The material constitutes a verse-by-verse interpretation of the entire epistle, but the material is not cast into the form of comments on the verses seriatim. An outline, which it is hoped will serve as a chart and guide to its contents, has been inserted into the text of the interpretation in an effort to keep the trend of the apostle's thought clearly before the reader. Homiletical applications have been sparingly introduced, due to limitations of space. - Preface.
